Hi Eva, very interesting stats there! I am a rugby player so I will start getting nervous once 100 hours clicks around.
Cheers
Richard
How is "injury" defined? No offense meant to soccer players, but man, I watch those guys take dives from a strong breeze - if they get to define injuries, then it's no wonder.
I watch guys playing hockey and rugby get stitched and taped up, blood running down their faces, and fight to get back to play. If they're defining injury, then it likely means "loss of a limb" or worse.
I believe soccer has a
very high rate of knee
injury, and it especially
targets women. Correct me
if I'm wrong: Repeating
something I heard from
a soccer coach.
I also wonder where bicycle
racing sits on this scale?

LOTS of knee, ankle and general leg injuries in soccer. It's the sliding tackles that wipe them out. A guy I worked with had his leg in a cast for months with a spiral fracture from just that.
However they also pull Hollywoods at every available opportunity, so it's easy to think it's a game plaed by wusses.
I wonder what the stats are for League?
Eva - can you refer us directly to the source for these stats? I checked around Lon's site and did not see much. As a U-19 Rugby Coach, I am always trying to recruit athletes from other sports and the biggest hurdle is their parents' fear of injury.
I play rugby and it is bad for injuries. Just deal with it. Soccer injuries arent real injuries!!!
LOVE the headband! You're SUCH a rock star in that picture.
What are those skis, 210s? My, my how times have changed. I ski anything from 158s-165s now.
I'm going to try to talk Brad into doing Susan with me tonight. Great looking workout.
Hope all's well!

My namesake! And I can't even remember my time. Pathetic, aren't I?Still, I am honored.
I just looked at that pic again - man, what a great shot. Whoever took it did you a solid, Ee-vuh. It's not the aerial part of it that's cool, it's the look on your face. Pure, unadulterated, joy.
If it were mine, we would see - pure, unimaginable, fear.
Nice, though.
